Divya was born and raised in the bustling city of Bangalore, India. She had a simple childhood, growing up in a middle-class family that valued education above all else. Her father always encouraged Divya and her siblings to pursue their dreams and never settle for anything less than their best. He wanted Divya to become an engineer, as there were no engineers in their family, especially girls. Divya was very good in her studies and she pursued her engineering in medical electronics.

During her third year of engineering, something happened that would change the course of her life forever. She saw a video on the Doordarshan tv channel about Indian Airlines air hostesses getting trained, which made her curious to know more about the profession. She discussed with her father that wants to be an air hostess. Her father suggested she finish the engineering degree first and then she can decide.

Undeterred, Divya decided to pursue her dream of becoming a cabin crew member. She finished her engineering degree and appeared for Indian Airlines interviews, but unfortunately, she was half a kilogram overweight and hence she was not chosen for the position. But her passion for flying remained strong, and she refused to give up on her dream.

Later she worked for a company handling medical electronic equipment, but she was not happy with her job. Her aim was to fly high and see the world. Then Air India interviews came up, which was an international airline, and was the only international airline in India at that time. She had to clear this interview at any cost, so she worked out and was careful about her diet.

She gave her written test and her unwavering determination and tireless efforts paved the way for her success. One fine day, the call for the commencement of her training finally arrived. So she went to Mumbai, leaving her home in Bangalore. The training was rigorous, but Divya was determined to succeed. She spent six months learning everything there was to know about cabin crew services, safety issues, and more along with numerous other candidates. And after completing her training successfully, finally, she was ready to take to the skies.

Living the Dream

For the next five years, Divya flew to all the international sectors, such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Paris, Tokyo and many other places. She saw the world, met new people, and experienced new cultures. It was everything she had ever dreamed of.

Later Divya got married and she spent most of her time in Mumbai, and her family was in Bangalore. It was difficult to connect with her family because she would come back to India only for two days before flying again. When she had her child, it became even more difficult. Divya made the difficult decision to give up her job and settle down in Bangalore. It was a bittersweet moment for her because aviation had become a part of her life, and she missed it terribly. But she knew it was the right decision for her and her family.

Giving back to the society

However, Divya's passion for aviation never faded away. She decided to start an aviation academy and called it   ‘Vervve Institute of Aviation.’ It gave her immense satisfaction because she was imparting knowledge and helping students fulfill their dreams of becoming a part of the aviation industry. She believed that dreams could come true, and with determination and hard work, one could achieve them. Over the years, Divya's aviation academy has been a huge success. Divya has inspired countless young men and women to follow their dreams and pursue careers in aviation.

Divya's aviation academy started to flourish, and more and more students were enrolling to fulfil their dream of working in the aviation industry. They were not just trainers but mentors who would guide the students through their journey and prepare them for the real world.

In 2021, Vervve Institute of Aviation was approached by a well-established airport services provider called ‘Manque Global Airport Services.’ This partnership brought immense growth opportunities to the academy. Following the partnership the academy was named Vervve Manque Aviation Academy.

Divya's academy was not just a business venture for her. It was her way of giving back to the industry that had given her so much. She believed that the aviation industry was a noble profession and that it needed more responsible and committed individuals.
