The first leather shoe brand which got introduced in India and achieved massive remuneration among people is Woodlands shoes. The Woodlands stands an icon even after the introduction of new shoe brands in the market. Even after years of its arrival in the market, the company still holds its recognition for the quality of its products.
Woodland came to India in 1992 by Avtar Singh Harkirat Singh. Aero Group Woodland’s Parent company has been a recognized brand name for outdoor shoes since the 1950s. The Aero Group was founded in Quebec, Canada. As the company was exporting leather shoes to Russia, but after Russia split into many states the company entered into Indian Market. Since the shoes were launched in India it became a huge success and that the shoe brand “Woodland” was born.
The woodland was most welcomed by outdoor enthusiasts and grabbed major attention in Indian markets. Their Shoes, rock climbers, Backpackers, hikers, and trail runners received the highest recognition. It manufactures and distributes products that are highly needed for adventure events. During this period there was a high spirit to adventure events.
With its innovation and technology, Woodlands introduced more products to cater to the needs of different climatic conditions. The quality, comfort, and versatility made it a topper seller in Indian markets. Raw materials like leather and soles are used in the manufacture of shoes made and exported from Italy and Germany. The woodland not only focuses on the quality but also on the eco-friendly products which cause no harm to the people and nature.
Woodland first launched its two Exclusive Brand outlets in Delhi. Today the company has 600 Brand outlets with 5500 Multi-Brand outlets. Soon after the success of Woodland shoes in the Indian market, the company decided to introduce apparel and accessories to generate more customers. In Northern states, the brand achieved huge success when compared to the Eastern states.
They also change the product listings according to the borders, In Northern states, there are separate collections for summer and winter. In Southern states 80% with summer apparel and 20% with winter apparel. Now the woodland brand is spread over Hong Kong, the Middle East, Dubai, and South Africa.
In India, the major manufacturing unit is Noida. The company has collaborations with vendors in Bangladesh, Taiwan, and China. The sources for synthetic fabrics are brought from Japan and Korea. The company sources cotton fabrics from India.
Woodland manufactures footwear, apparel, and Accessories for Men, Women, and Kids. The footwear includes Shoes, sandals, casuals, flip flops, boots. The apparel includes T-shirts, shirts, bottoms, jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts &Hoddies. The accessories include gloves, bags, innerwear bottoms, belts, innerwear tops, socks, and wallets.
