We can say Doctors are the incarnation of the god. In India, we celebrate National Doctor’s Day on July of 1st to thank physicians and doctors for their dedicated services to patients.
Today we are talking about DR. Chandrakala. V. Is a well-known name in the medical circles in Tumkur, Karnataka. Founder and Consultant Radiologist at Raaghu Scanning Centre.
DR. Chandrakala. V, routing life is not as easy as normal people. DR. Chandrakala. V doesn't have a fixed lifestyle like five days of working or only an 8 hours time slot and so on. DR. Chandrakala. V have to be available any seconds of the emergency.
Dr. Chandrakala had her primary education in Bengaluru and later shifted to Tumkur. She did her MBBS from Bangalore Medical College. Later she did her PG Diploma in Radiology from Kuvempu University and also underwent special training programs in Foetal medicine.
Dr. Chandrakala.V, is a doctor born to parents father Sri Veerachowdaiah retired Asst Executive Engineer and mother Yashodha housewife. Did her primary and secondary education from Vasavi High school, Tumkur, and Pre-university at Sarvodhaya college Tumkur.
In the year 1998, she started her own Independent Raaghu Scanning Centre at Tumkurwith hardship and getting loan from KSFC under the scheme of female enterprisonership sponsured by State Govt and brought highly equipped Radiology instruments imported from Japan and started to give Radiological services through advanced technology.
In Pandemic situations like COVID 19, DR. Chandrakala. V doctors play a very vital role. Without their support, it's impossible to fight against it. In such scenarios, doctors play roles like soldiers who help us to fight against COVID 19 compromising their life too.
DR. Chandrakala. V has actively involved during Corona pandemic and her centre catered the radiological services day and night.
She is doing health services mainly in the field of UIltrasongraphy helping the high-risk pregnant mothers, and also in identifying the congenital anomalies well in advance by doing various modern scientific procedures.
DR. Chandrakala. V aim is that no child should be born with any congenital abnormality. It can be done by early detection and early treatment, thereby helping parents and the community. Use my skills and improve my experience in the field of Foetal Medicine”, says Dr. Chandrakala.V
A super specialty diagnostic center with all the modern equipment including ultrasound, MRI, CT scanning, and many other facilities should be provided to the patients all under one roof is what I desire, she says. Apart from bringing state of the art technology, she also wants to provide employment opportunities to the people in the district.

She has done scans of more than 3 lakhs patients in her 24 years of continuous work (from 1998 till today). Many people are getting benefitted from this center.
DR. Chandrakala. V is the founder of Raaghu charitable trust which is joining helping hands for poor pregnant mothers, Orphan children and also to blind people there by doing social service. She has contributed to old age homes both by doing health check up camps and financial assistance.
She got married to Dr Krishna Professor of pathology and formerly Deputy Director in the Health Department GOK.
DR. Chandrakala. V is blessed with son Dr. Raaghu who is at present a Final year Postgraduate in MS General Surgery at JSS Medical College Mysore.
Apart from being the founder and consultant radiologist at Raaghu Scanning Centre, Dr. Chandrakala has also worked as a senior resident in Sri Siddhartha medical college Tumkur, consultant radiologist to Adarsha nursing home and Kasturba hospital. She has also worked as a consultant radiologist in Sira, Madhugiri, Kunigal, Tiptur and Arsikere taluk places. Being an established radiologist she has done more than 2,50, 000 antenatal scans in her lifetime and detected more than 12000 anomalous foetuses.
