BYJU’s was founded by a young Engineer named Byju Raveendran in the year 2011. He has a net worth of US $2.5 billion in 2021 and is ranked the 67th rich billionaire in India.  Byju’s in talks with several investors to raise up to $1.5 billion to make an appraisement to $21 billion. Some of the bankers are also running behind BYJU’s for IPO with a project estimate of $50billion

BYJU’s Origin

2008- Raveendran an Engineering Graduate passed the CAT Exam and secured 100% without any coaching, later started the offline CAT coaching for students

2011- It was started up as “Think and Learn Pvt Ltd’’ with primarily focused on the K12 segment

2014- Started with tablet learning programs for competitive exams and grades 8th to 12th

2015- Inaugurated the BYJU’s The Learning App’’ to make quality content with professional teachers and made ease of accessibility from anywhere. In three months of launching the app they were around 2million students started using it.

2016- Mark Zuckerberg and Chan Zuckerberg made the first investment of $50millon in Byju’s .It is the first Asian Company to receive this initiative from the Zuckerberg foundation.

2017- BYJU’s has become a Case Study for Harvard Business School students like how an e-learning app has impacted of Education. It also acquired the US-based online tutoring app “Tutor Vista and Edurite’’. Byju’s also acquired “Vidyartha’’which is a student assessment platform.

It also made a paid partnership with Shah Rukh Khan and made him the Brand Ambassador of BYJU’s.

2019-BYJU’s replaces OPPO and becomes Team India’s Jersey Sponsor and the deal is from BCCI with the duration of 5th September 2019 to 31st March 2022.

2020- Byju’s acquired White hat Jr  an online coding program for kids with $300 million.

 

BYJU’s Training Programs

 They provide learning programs from Class 1st to 12th all over India.

Also provide coaching for IAS, NEET, JEE, CAT, GATE, UPSC, Bank, and Government Exams.

Academic classes are mostly Animation videos with a duration of 20mins and students get the most interested and learn well with such types of animated videos. It has more than 2, 50,000 subscribers all around India. Further has become the most trusted e-learning brand among teachers and students.

BYJU’s Acquisitions

Great Learning

BYJU’s acquired Great learning for $600million and it will invest an additional amount of $400 million to upgrade the Education System and its Management.

BYJU’s spent $150 for acquiring Topper.

Epic

It has also acquired Epic, which is a US- Based digital learning platform for kids with a deal of $500 million. They are estimated to invest a huge amount on American Education markets.

BYJU’s Investors

Byju’s plan is to invest more in schools in USA, UK, Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, and Mexico.
