Fries Factory’s success is built on Hard Work, Consistency, and Dedication

Rahul and Harshavardhan, the founders of Fries Factory, are two brothers from a lower middle-class family who always had a passion for the food industry.

Rahul studied Hotel Management at MS Ramaiah College and tried his hand at several odd jobs after graduation but did not enjoy them. Harshavardhan completed his B.Com two years later and created a YouTube channel called The Throttler, which gained traction in August 2021.

The channel’s success allowed them to save money, and the brothers were determined to start their own business. They had always been fascinated by fries and noticed there were no dedicated French fries outlets. They believed the unique concept gave them an edge over other businesses. They decided to take the risk and started Fries Factory in 2022.

Rahul's experience in Hotel Management helped him develop fries of different flavors and tastes. They settled on French Fries because it was popular with all age groups, from children to adults to elders. They also thought that French fries are served as a side dish, so why not make it a main dish?

They opened their first outlet on June 17, 2022, in a small room of 6 x 8 feet with just a single fryer. Within three months, they were famous, which led to long wait times for their customers.

As demand for their fries grew, the founders of Fries Factory faced challenges in sourcing their ingredients, particularly finding reliable vendors for their fries. In November 2022, they were selling 70-80 kgs of fries per day, a remarkable feat that set them apart from other restaurants in Karnataka.

Despite facing scarcity, they did not compromise the quality of their ingredients, always using high-quality oil, fries, sauces, and spices, which contributed to their cult-like following.

The popularity of their business also got them 30-40 offers to branch out as franchises, but the founders were not keen on it. They wanted to do things right and did more market research to make Fries Factory a success story. They worked hard to perfect their recipes, develop new menu items, and provide excellent customer service. They were always looking for ways to improve their business and make it more successful.

They remained cautious about expanding too quickly and wanted to ensure they had a solid foundation before taking risks. They had to be careful with their expansion plans as they did not want to lose the quality and uniqueness that made Fries Factory stand out.

After careful consideration, they opened a second outlet in Jayanagar on December 15th. They also expanded their main outlet, which was previously a 6 x 8 feet store, by 75% in size on February 5th.

They also decided to offer franchising opportunities to individuals in their friend circle to ensure their outlets perform just as well as their main ones. As a result, Fries Factory opened new outlets in Malleshwaram and Banashankari in February and March 2023, respectively. The founders are selective in choosing franchise candidates, preferring those committed to running the store personally rather than those solely interested in making money.

The main outlet alone generated a turnover of 2-3 million (20-30 Lakhs) within five months of operation, and the combined turnover of all four outlets is now around 80-90 Lakhs.

Fries Factory is renowned for its consistency in flavor and texture, and if customers receive any subpar dishes (a rare occurrence), they are replaced without question.

The founders believe that ‘hard work, consistency, and dedication never fail to gift you what you deserve.’ They take inspiration from their parents who worked harder than them to provide them with education. Their mother used to tailor clothes, while their father was a sales executive.

Both parents were instrumental to the success of Fries Factory as they gave up their jobs and helped the founders of Fries Factory with billing and other tasks. Rahul and Harshavardhan can't thank their parents enough for their support and help at Fries Factory.

Fries Factory is a brand that falls under the Unique Eats. Unique Eats, founded by Rahul and Harshavardhan, are planning on diversifying with other brands like Fries Factory. The exciting news is that Unique Eats is launching a new brand to mark its 1st anniversary on the 17th of June.
