Akriti Verma, who comes from a middle-class family in Patna, Bihar, was encouraged to become an entrepreneur by her uncle. She started a wall putty production company with Rs 15 lakh at the age of 26, despite having no prior business experience. Wall putty is a construction substance that is applied to the walls before painting to give them a smoother texture.

Three years later, her business Renaissance Industry Private Limited has developed AKV Wall Putty, a Rs 1 crore turnover brand that competes in the market with products from giants like Birla, J K Cement, and Iris.

According to media reports, Akrit left a well-paying position in Singapore to start her own business. Atul Kumar Verma, Akriti's father, worked for the state government. In 2019, he stepped down as Director of the Department of Art, Culture, and Youth. Her mother, Kriti Verma, was a housewife and a graduate. She had always been a rock for her, encouraging her to follow her aspirations. She even assisted her in the business till her untimely death in March of this year. Akriti earned her English Honours (2010-13) from Delhi University's Dayal Singh College and went to Cardiff Metropolitan University's Singapore Campus to pursue her MBA in Project Management (2013-15).

Following her MBA, she joined as a project consultant at Selby Jennings, a major recruitment firm, for a salary of Rs 24 lakh per year.
Back in India, she formed Renaissance Industry in 2015 with the help of her mother, who was experimenting with organic farming and goat husbandry on a one-acre plot of land owned by the family in Nagai village, Siwal district, Bihar. Akriti returned to India with her savings after working in Singapore for approximately two years to start a business. The company's revenue in 2018-19 was Rs 12 lakh. She has established her own business and warehouse in Gorichak, Patna, in just three years. She presently employs 11 people, with a revenue of Rs 1 crore in FY 2020-21.

Akriti grew her company by listing it on trade websites like India Mart and TradeIndia. She claims that while their product is less expensive than the larger companies, the quality is comparable.
Akriti has a basic business philosophy: she never refuses a client and accepts even the smallest orders. They charge Rs 380 for a 20 kg wall putty sack and Rs 750 for a 40 kg sack. There are also savings available for large orders. She has relatives all around the world and would stay in one of their homes while on the road. When she needs to stay in a hotel, she likes inexpensive hotels, spending no more than Rs 2000 for a night's stay.
And she is unafraid of anything. One of their devices had a technical issue at one point. The maker was in Delhi, and when it appeared that repairing the machine through their person who had to travel from Delhi would take a few days, she opted to fix it herself. In March 2019, she suffered a personal setback when she lost her mother under tragic circumstances. Akriti has a younger sister who works as a lawyer and a younger brother who is still in school. Her father is on the lookout for a suitable boy for her, but she is completely focused on her job.
