Kamal Hasan launches his fashion label, 'KH House of Khaddar,' in an effort to improve khadi's reputation in the marketplace

With the launch of his label 'House of Khaddar,' actor Kamal Hasan has entered the fashion sector. The superstar introduced his apparel line, 'KH House of Khaddar,' as well as his fragrance line, 'KH Memoir,' to the media and VIP guests in attendance at the Chicago event. At the event, a part of the revenue from pre-release sales went to Pivoting in Heels, a non-profit that Hasan supports.



The goal of House of Khaddar is to establish a clothing brand that celebrates khadi as a fabric. The stereotype of Khadi that most people have about the fabric is set to be shattered, as the House of Khaddar intends to present it in a fashionable, cool, and modern light that will appeal to the country's youth. The label also aspires to uplift and improve the lives of India's handloom weavers. The fragrance collection was inspired by the ancient practice of using aroma in religious rituals.

It denotes that the product is appealing enough to find a market for it. "Chicago is a special city with great history," Kamal Haasan says of establishing his first fashion line in the city. The desi culture here is self-evident. To promote our brands, we needed the perfect city. More than anywhere else in North America, the people here have a better understanding of smell and clothes."

"If the celebrity and or athlete shares our vision and can maintain the brand standard, we would keep in consideration," he adds when questioned about cooperating with any celebrity or athlete to support KH Brand Line. We want to make sure we're working with the proper people so we can get the right scope for both lines of business."
