Unemployment is a stinging problem curbed to an extent by technological advancements catalyzing the evolution of job hunting, as companies and apps related to finding employment are advancing their methods of obtaining openings for their candidates.  Dr. Maria Dey is one such pioneer of job employment, as companies and candidates have benefitted from the excellent services of her and her husband, Sandip Kumar Dey’s establishment, Poonam IT Consulting Services Private Limited (PITCS).

PITCS was founded in 2005 from a small office with a team of six in the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore, under the vision of helping companies build stronger businesses as well as provide employment to thousands of job aspirants. Dr. Maria Dey understands the importance of a company hiring the appropriate staff of employees to ensure unnecessary difficulties are eliminated at their root, as her 20+ years of work experience witnessed her engaging with administrative work at each company.

Dr. Maria initiated her career at Holy Angels High School, Hyderabad, where she performed numerous administrative tasks, from preparing journals for the assigned classes in advance to organizing the proper presentation of charts to ensure each child absorbs the information contained within it properly. She also worked at Nipuna Services Limited and Dell Computers in Hyderabad, where she was recognized for her extreme efficiency and reliability.  

2006 witnessed Dr. Maria shift to Bangalore, where she initiated her journey working as a Senior Resource Executive in Source India Management Consultants. Here, she grasped the tips and tricks necessary to stay successful in the recruitment industry and utilized them frequently to increase her business acumen. During this period, she met her soon-to-be husband, but they initially stayed as colleagues/partners.

The establishment of PITCS by her husband Sandip Kumar Dey, with Dr. Maria as its co-founder, kick-started the build-up of their relationship. Their chemistry increased with each day, as they managed both professional and personal lives with exception. The high level of understanding between them served as the catalyst that ended with them getting married. Working in a 2BHK house that served as a makeshift office only strengthened their bond, as they maneuvered through the highly competitive recruitment industry with integrity and determination. Starting successfully with small-scale staffing, they pushed the success of PITCS, as it found itself providing over 75k placements with 8000 contract/temporary staffing over the years.

Lending a helping hand is a quality imbibed in Dr. Maria, as evident in her professional and personal life, where she has worked for numerous social causes, even being recognized as a ‘Women in Leadership’ recipient at the Business Innovation Summit in 2023. The COVID-19 Pandemic witnessed Dr. Maria and a few friends team up and provide hospital beds and other essential amenities.

Apart from maintaining an illustrious career, Dr. Maria is also reputed to be a Jack of All Trades, as her proficiency in numerous activities has won her accolades at every stage. She is a proficient yoga practitioner with a certificate that allows her to provide training, and also a dancer, having performed at several events. Physical and mental training is essential, and she has also passed an LLB course in Labour Law, which adds to her impressive academic performance. Her excellent vision and keen eye for detail allowed her to pursue painting on glass and cloth with grace, extending her creativity towards embroidery on cloth.

Dr. Maria Dey and her husband, Sandip Kumar Dey, plan to expand PITCS towards heights thought to be unattainable. With a strong clientele worldwide, PITCS aims to supply companies and conglomerates with the necessary staffing under the expert guidance of both founder and co-founder.
