Vinay Kumar: The Constructing Designer and Home-Maker

India is at its peak with its population of adolescents and youth, as it is currently positioned at the top. A huge population can be crucial for the country as it can help push the country forward with brand-new ideas and innovative changes. The job market is also experiencing huge waves of employees seeking out opportunities to lead a secure and stable lifestyle. However, certain individuals are on a quest to establish themselves as top entrepreneurs, risking a guaranteed career for independence.

Vinay Kumar is a trail-blazing entrepreneur based in Kolar. Born in 1996, he completed his school education in Srinivasapura, PUC from Sahyadri College at Kolar,  and obtained his degree from C Byregowda Institute of Technology (CBIT) at Kolar. His initial intention of progressing in the field he had studied for led him to display his excellent work ethic and dedication to precision as he worked for RKN Constructions, a builder in Chintamani. He garbed the role of a site engineer, where there was little to no work apart from looking for references. Along with this, he’s also completed a course on five designing tools, namely AutoCAD, Rivet Architecture, Lumia, and 3DS Max, and has honed his skills in basic planning and elevations.

Another engineer was entrusted with the responsibility of drawing the plots, but after completing the courses, Vinay Kumar too began to plan and sketch each plot. Soon, with enough confidence in his artistic ability and experience in handling contracts, he established Shri Vinayaka Constructions (aptly named after Lord Ganesha, the destroyer of obstacles) in 2019. Initially, his lack of exposure to the construction business and its ways for 3-4 months would result in his office being deprived of customers. This period would make Vinay speculate on how getting even one or two plans/contracts was significant.

Vinay Kumar got the necessary boost for his company due to his father, who had referred his company to a building owner, who wanted a new building to be constructed. The owner had a 20-year-old building that needed to be revamped, as there was no movement for a new building. The project started in 2019 and was successfully constructed in January 2020, turning it into a G+1 duplex building as it even became a prominent highlight in Gulpet, Kolar. This led to a chain reaction of him obtaining two more contracts in the same area.

After that, he got another contract to modify another building of the previous client’s relative. This led to him obtaining three projects from people who found him via his office contact, and two projects of his relatives. Out of the five projects, two have reached and are in the finishing stage, with the other three projects just beginning to unfold.

Vinay Kumar plans to further his excellent growth in this field, with plans to install branches to spread his quality work. Even with two colleagues in his office, he prefers to work solo without a partnership and is currently looking to establish a larger office in another place, with preferences for areas from Hoskote to K R Puram in Bengaluru. Reasons include easier travel, as it’s easier to travel there and he can entrust his colleagues in K R Puram who could travel and maintain the new branch. He’ll be executing the planning procedures in the Kolar branch, while the future K R Puram branch can secure new customers. In addition, his clientele could find it more convenient to travel there for client meetings.

At the age where most youngsters are either clubbing, binge-watching OTT shows, and engaging in other lazy activities for long hours, Vinay Kumar is utilizing his energy and manifesting his ambitions into reality with his dedication and planning.
