Priyanka Srinivasan's main concern was always food. There are many alternatives, but she thought the ones she had were animal-based, artificial, and thoroughly manufactured. She always had felt that the main components were found in nature.

"There really are over 450,000 plants and over 10 million plant-based substances that could all provide the taste and nutrients we require, but they are just not placed to use.

She founded The Live Green Co in Chile with Sasikanth Chemalamudic in 2018 because she wanted to accomplish more.

To the forefront of the food chain, the firm employs solely plant-based components, additive alternatives, and nutritional substances. For this, the team developed Charaka, an AI-powered set-up to encourage that assists in the development of plant-based ice-creams.

The startup's AI engine combines age-old knowledge, biotechnology, and machine learning to recommend a 100% natural plant replacement to various dishes, beginning with ice creams.

The components are added via the Charaka, which aids in the replacement of any synthetic, manufactured, unsustainable, and animal-based products with more natural alternatives such as bananas, flaxseed, avocado, and so on.

They discovered a treasure trove of reservoirs in Ayurvedic medicine, Chinese herbology, and other eastern plants as they probed further into the section. They discovered plants as well as other natural substances that make food tastier, healthier, and more affordable and use their own patented R&D.

After demonstrating its capacity to meet strict social and environmental requirements, The Live Green Co was one of the first Latin American-based food-tech firms to receive B Corporation Certification from B Lab.

Being accredited by B Corporation, according to the startup, is an indication of a company's integrity and commitment to sustainability and tackling global concerns, rather than merely making a profit. In the business world, a nonprofit's endorsement is a badge of honour since it demonstrates that the organisation is having a beneficial influence on both people and the environment.

It is currently the only accreditation that assesses a business's whole social and environmental performance.

With this accreditation, The Live Green Co. joins Patagonia, Toms, Heura Foods, and Betterfly, a prominent Chilean insurance firm, as well as other notable companies focusing on environmental and social impact.

The Live Green Company sells its algorithm, Charaka, a patent-pending product, to B2B companies. Sigma Alimentos, a major Mexican food firm, has acquired a minority share in the startup, which was part of the Sigma inaugural accelerator class.

The company has yet to reveal the B2B pricing. The firm has received $1 million in seed funding from investors in the United States, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile.

As per Markets and Markets, the plant-based food and meat market is expected to reach $8.3 billion by 2025.

Whereas other plant-based companies, such as Eat Just and NotCo, use technology to aid in formulations, Live Green Co's Charaka is eliminating not only animal products but also other ingredients and chemicals.
