What a coincidence ? This year just before Engineer's day Engineer turned actor Ramesh Arvind received a Prestigious honorary Doctorate from Rani Channamma University ,Belgaum. Rani Channamma University Vice Chancellor Prof.Ramachandra Gowda & Tejasvi Kattimani were also present in the function, one of the biggest & reputed University of Karnataka. His Highness Governor of Karnataka Thawar Chand Gehlot Presented Honorary Doctorate Award to Actor, Director, Writer, Producer, TV Show host & Motivational speaker Ramesh Arvind the legend.

From a small boy growing up in Basavanagudi area becoming a celebrity. Ramesh Arvind's life has been a tale of extraordinary determination, courage perseverance and desire to excel. He always is transforming dreams into action.

Ramesh Arvind's dialogues, Mannerism's and costumes attracted a lot of attention. The style of dialogue delivery too made an impact Ramesh Aravind is an Indian actor, director, screenwriter and television presenter who predominantly works in Kannada lms and television. In a career of over 34 years, In a career of over 34 years, Ramesh Aravind has appeared in lead roles over 140  lms in six languages, including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.

Ramesh Aravind was born in 1964 to P.A. Govindachari & Saroja. He has 2 brothers and a sister. He is married to Archana and they have a daughter Niharika and son Arjun.

He has done Primary Education at Shri Kumarans School and studied High School in the National High School, Basavanagudi, Bangalore and Secured State 7th Rank in SSLC (Karnataka State Secondary Examination Board). He collegiate at The National College Basavanagudi and Engineering College UVCE, Bangalore University. He is a good debater and he has got most awards at school.

Ramesh Aravind got noticed initially through Akashavani and DD programmes he hosted. Geethapriya’s Mouna Geethe was his rst Kannada lm in which he acted but it was K. Balachander's Sundara Swapnagalu that became his rst release in 1986. K. Balachander introduced him to Tamil with Manathil Irudhi Vendum and to Telugu  lms through Rudraveena. Till 2022, He has to his credit 102 Kannada lms, 40 Tamil lms, 12 Telugu lms and 2 Hindi lms as the leading man.

His last release was the superhit SHIVAJI SURATKAL and 100. His next lm as actor is Shivaji Suratkal 2. Hoomale the national award-winning lm in released 1998 was scripted by him that paved his way towards becoming Screenwriter. His rst directorial debut was Rama Shama Bhama, followed by Sathyavan Savithri and Accident. For his debut lm as a director, he won the Best debut director award and also the Best Actor in a comedy role award as well. In addition to the silver screen, he also had impactful stint on the small screen as well. He has hosted some of most memorable tv shows like Weekend With Ramesh.

Ramesh Aravind as an actor, director, screenwriter and television presenter, earned numerous awards during his career including 2 Karnataka State Awards for Best Actor and 2 Filmfare Awards for Best Actor; Udaya TV award for Best Debut director; Best Story for Amruta Dhare. In 96-97 series of his movies - Anuraga Sangama, Karpoorada Gombe, Namoora Mandara Hoove, Amrutavarshini, America America, Ulta Palta, O Mallige, Mungarina Minchu, Tutta Mutta successfully completed a 100-day run, consecutively, creating boxofce history.

His journey in lmland continues to this day in all aspects of making - as director of comedy lm Rama Shama Bhama and as an actor in cult movies like Sir series; Aptamitra, Pushpaka Vimana, Shivaji Surathkal and 100.

2. He was the host of Season 3 of KANNADADA KOTIYADIPATHI the Kannada version of KAUN BANEGA CROREPATI on Star Suvarna.
