Here is an untold story of a person who thought Education is a powerful weapon to change society is none other than Mr. Lokesh Talikatte. Born in a village called Talikatte, who emphasized education by producing an umpteen number of teachers compared to other villages in Karnataka, near Chitradurga District to a farmer, who got deprived of a good education reason being poverty. With great effort by his teacher Mr. Chennabasappa who convinced Mr. Lokesh’s parents to continue his education, again started schooling from where he has stopped in Talikatte till 10th standard.

The same poverty again stopped Mr. Lokesh to study medicine despite good marks scored and made us believe in saying what happens is for good in the end. Being a topper in 10th Standard Mr. Lokesh got admission to Sahyadri Science College in Shimoga. When in degree Mr. Lokesh, who wanted to enter medicine after completing cbz in BSc., focus got diverted and started thinking about other job opportunities including competitive exams which Government of India conducts. His goal about UPSC exams made him realize the efforts and hard work he has to make and started utilizing the college library after regular classes. Effective utilization of the library made Mr. Lokesh get through preliminary exams immediately after college passed out. Later the then MP Mr. Chennaiah Wodeyar help and arranged coaching classes for Mr. Lokesh in Delhi. Again poverty played a major role and forced Mr. Lokesh to go back to his native village.

Here is the beginning of the story even though Mr. Lokesh saw many defeats in life he never let himself be defeated, with a good network of friends he started a coaching center for IAS aspirants in Bangalore thinking good Knowledge is the mother of Leadership. After this Mr. Lokesh never went fruitless as his hard work defeated his tough luck and gave Mr. Lokesh a turning point.

Big Ideas has a small beginning that is Saandipini-Bangalore a brainchild of Mr. Lokesh, a school that started in the year 2002 became HiTech with CBSE Affiliation and now has branches in Talikatte, Holalkere, Ajjampura, Tarikere, Hosadurga, and planning a branch in Chenagiri. Saandipini Group of Schools is providing free education for 150 children as an aid for the needy along with 3800 regular kids. Mr. Lokesh’s keen interest to introduce a new educational model with the latest technology Saandipini Group of Institutions has become a shrine with the sole objective of providing the best education even to rural children.

Mr. Lokesh with other like-minded started RUPSA an association with 6000 partner schools to safeguard the interest of unaided private schools of Karnataka and as a medium to create awareness. In RUPSA schools find a solution with a common vision strategy which includes stakeholders like school management, teachers, students, parents, and various leaders across the community.

Moral – A person who knows the value of education can educate the whole society.
