The unexpected decision of young Major Rishabh Singh Sambyal, who has served the Indian Army with distinction and played a key role in the defense of the country for more than a decade, has now created a stir. After serving as the 'Aide-de-Camp' (ADC) to President Droupadi Murmu, the country's highest office, for a long time, and earning a reputation as a 'national crush' on social media, he has resigned from the army prematurely at the age of just 30.

The main factors that led to his farewell to a long military journey of 12 years and his sacrifices are now being discussed across the country. Belonging to a Dogra Rajput family in Jammu and Kashmir, Rishabh Singh Sambyal was born into a military family. He cleared the National Defence Academy (NDA) exam in 2013 and completed his graduation in Military Management in 2017.

He was selected for the most prestigious 4-para Special Forces within a very short period of joining the army. Rishabh is also one of the handful of soldiers to have received the 'Balidan Badge', which is awarded for exceptional talent and bravery. He led the Jat Regiment troops in the 2021 Republic Day Parade and won the 'Best Marching Contingent' trophy. In recognition of his performance, he was appointed as the most trusted 'ADC' by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, in March 2023.
