Dreams lead you to many places and while reaching the goal you do many jobs before becoming successful. Hard work and passion drive you towards your dream goal and success, this is the story of Mr. Umesh the founder of Mathana Home industries. He started his professional journey on his bicycle selling tea powder and cattle feed door to door, and during this period he came across suggestions by some people about the need for a machine to churn buttermilk in order to prepare butter, this led him to manufacture a machine for the above said purpose. Coming from an agricultural background and having basic education of SSLC in his kitty and with no mechanical or engineering background, he faced many hurdles in the beginning of his life but he struggled through all that and emerged successfully. After initial failure, he was disappointed and had decided to quit but his wife encouraged and motivated him to push forwarded and ultimately made him the successful entrepreneur that he is. This in turn led to the manufacturing of many other associated types of machinery like water heating machines with less fuel, furniture, agricultural machinery for peeling, and polishing of betel nut, wheelbarrow, and many 30 other products.

All this started in the year 1992 with 3 members at his home, but gradually they expanded in phases and now have around 120 workers from the local area working in his factory. Feedback from his consumers encouraged him to improvise and encouraged him to move on. He now employs local persons from all walks like persons with basic education backgrounds train them and helping them to handle CNC machines also. All this he does with passion and zeal towards his work and succeeds.  He credits his success to his workforce and his family. Raw materials are procured from Bangalore and Hubli and the finished products are sent all over the country and also to some foreign countries like Burma. The turnover of his business has reached 8 to 10 crore per year and the quality and reasonable pricing have been the reason behind his success. Workers are looked after with great care and they are being given all the required benefits like PF, Medical facilities, etc. Many people who have been trained and worked for him have started new units of their own but they still maintain a cordial relationship with him. He has provided those, who have interested by giving out franchises and has sales outlets in Sagara and other places.

In the year 2002, he along with his friends started a school in his place to educate local students and to give quality education for the local children from LKG to 7^th standard, i.e. the primary education which has benefitted the local kids to a great extent.

Mr. Umesh has been awarded Karnataka Government award, Sir M Visweshwariah excellence award, Kassia award and has been facilitated by the locals as well

Mr. Umesh feels sincere hard work is necessary for a successful life and believes in maintaining transparency in all his work. He feels lack of education has never been a hindrance in his life but feels restraint of not being to converse or having mastery over language is the only constraint he has faced so far. He feels his parent’s blessings and his son’s involvement in the business have helped him immensely.
