The story of Vijay Sankeshwar's rise to wealth has inspired countless individuals. His remarkable journey began in the 1970s when he took a bold step to establish his own logistics company with just one truck. Known affectionately as "Transportzar" in his hometown of Hubli, Karnataka, Vijay's path to success is a testament to determination and vision.

Despite being born into a family that owned printing presses, Vijay chose to forge his own path. In 1976, he defied his parents' wishes and purchased a truck with borrowed money, venturing into the logistics industry. The early years were fraught with challenges as he navigated an unpredictable industry with limited technological support.

Undeterred by financial and logistical obstacles, Vijay's company, Vijayanand Roadlines, began to grow. By 1994, the company rebranded as VRL and expanded significantly, growing from a single truck to a fleet of over 150 trucks.

In 1996, Vijay further diversified his business by launching Vijayanand Travels, moving into the passenger transportation sector. This expansion marked VRL's evolution from a commercial transportation company to a comprehensive transportation service provider.

Today, VRL Logistics Limited stands as a diversified conglomerate managed by Vijay and his son, Anand Sankeshwar. Their business interests extend beyond logistics to include wind power projects, media ventures, and air charter services. VRL Logistics is now a publicly listed company with a market capitalization exceeding Rs 6,300 crore.

Vijay Sankeshwar's inspiring journey from a single truck to leading a logistics giant is celebrated in the 2022 Kannada film "Vijayanand," which chronicles his extraordinary rise in the industry.
