The top and most trusted brand of the millennium era is the Khadims. The company is Indias Second largest retailer of footwears. The company has many retail shops around India with the brand name Khadims. The company is involved in the manufacture and retailing of footwear products and accessories in the Eastern and Southern parts of India.

Khadims was started in the year 1960 as a small shoe store in Chitpur, Kolkata. The company was acquired by Satya Prasad Roy Burman in 1965. Khadims was incorporated in the year 1981 and the company started focusing mainly on wholesale and distribution of basic footwear products until the company entered to retail business in 1993. Then the company started its first retail store in Kolkata, later the operations got spread over North and East India. The company operates retail stores in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities mainly focusing on the middle class and Upper middle-class people with the store set up in Shopping Malls and High street stores.

Satya Prasad Roy Burman's son Sidhartha Roy Burman introduced the concept of retailing in the year 1993. The three retail stores were first opened in Kolkata. After the death of Satya Prasad Roy in 2013, his son Sidhartha is looking to expand its business in all parts of India. Khadims started exporting and selling to other countries.

In 1999 khakis started its retail stores in South India, 2 stores in Chennai, 1 in Bangalore, and 1 in Secundrabad. In 2002 the company started manufacturing operations of footwear and leather products at its manufacturing unit Kasba Industrial Estate West Bengal. In 2005 the company name was changed to “Khadims Chain stores Limited”.

The company has the ISO 9001:2015 certification with its manufacturing unit “Kasba Industrial Estate”. When Khadims came for its first public offering in 2017, it had a total of 853 retail stores all over India.

Khadims becomes the second on the list of footwear companies, where Bata holds the first position. Khadims currently has 2 manufacturing units, 1 in Kolkata and another in Kanpur.

Khadims has all types of Shoes, Sandals, Boots, flip flops, loafers, heels, kid’s shoes, slippers, wallets, bags, belts, and cardholders. It also sells its products on online e-commerce platforms like Flipkart, Jabong, Amazon, and Snapdeal.

Reliance Private Equity has invested in Khadims. The company has a total quarterly income of Rs.168.35crores which is 82% higher than the last year. In 2020 the quarterly income is 92.10 which is 30.78% higher than 2019.

There are many competitors in the footwear industry like Bata, Reliance footprint, Liberty shoes, Mochi and Relaxo. The leading other international brands like Adidas, Nike, Pavers, and Crocs. But Khadims is still holding its unique presence in the industry.
