50th year Golden Jubilee celebration of Our Lady of Good Health Vailankanni- St. Ignatius Church, Kirkee Pune

St. Ignatius Church, Khadki is one of the oldest Catholic churches which was established in 1876. The church is known for its devotion to Mother Mary, Our Lady of Good Health, Velankanni. The church is set to celebrate its 50^th annual novena in honour of Our Lady of Velankanni this year.

The 10-day novena will commence on August 29, 2022 with the traditional flag hoisting at 5:45 p.m. followed by the Rosary and Holy Mass at 6 p.m. The theme for the novena this year is “Behold Thy Mother.”

During the 10-day celebration, two masses will be celebrated daily – the first at 12 noon and second at 6 pm. There will be a blessing of the sick during the 12 noon mass everyday. Thousands of devotees from all over Pune and beyond attend the mass services which are open to one and all.

Religious articles and votive offerings will be officially available at the counters set up in the church premises. Gifts for the underprivileged can be offered daily at each mass. There will be reserved seats for the sick, elderly, and differently-abled.

The novena services and the Golden Jubilee will conclude on Thursday, September 8, 2022 with the 6 p.m. mass celebrated by Rt. Rev. Thomas Dabre, Bishop of Pune. With the lowering of the flag. A procession with the statue of the Mother Mary will taken around the church.
