CA Dr. I S Prasad – from a small village in Krishnagiri to the prestigious FKCCI President

Mr Prasad, who hails from Denkanikottai, a small village in the taluk of Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, was born in 1957 and brought up by his parents, Smt. Melamba and Sri I G Sundaram.

He completed his schooling at the Govt high school of Denkanakottai with a good score, and with the dream of higher education, he stepped into the Madras Christian College for his Pre-University course. He, with his great efforts, excelled well in his pre-university course, which opened up an opportunity to study in one of the prestigious institutions of the country, The Christ University at Bangalore. Mr Prasad graduated from Christ University in the year 1978. Then, with a keen interest in law, he completed Legal Law from Bangalore University. Later in 1982, he qualified in Chartered Accountancy. After this, he also did a diploma in systems audit from ICAI, New Delhi.

Humanity is what the present-day humans are forgetting. Mr Prasad spends a minimum of 2-3 hours serving the community, education, medical relief, and youth empowerment. This is not a practice for a month or two; he has been doing this for the past two decades continuously, which is making a difference in the society around him.

The President of FKCCI!!

Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), an organisation that was started by Shri Sir M Vishweshwaraiah in 1916, has been a great organisation since then. Mr Prasad joined the organisation as a Patron member in 1994, but he participated actively from 2000. Over the decades, he has served the organisation in various capacities. He was elected as a management committee member in the year 2007, and after years of great work, he was elected as the vice president. After two decades of vibrant experience in the organisation, he is now serving as the President of the organisation.

The Lions Club of Bangalore West has made an immense contribution in all possible ways in the development of the hospital, and also pioneered in supporting the establishment of the BW Lions Sri Vidya Sagar Oswal Institute of Ophthalmologyat JP Nagar. The hospital has performed more than 145000 free eye surgeries, and 30000 eyes have been collected by the international eye bank.

As the Executive President of Kidwai Cancer Drug Foundation from 2014 -18, established KCDF, which procures drugs at a discounted price and gives them to the patients with a nominal and the least margin on the cost of the same. Which is helping numerous patients to save a lot of money on buying those drugs in the market, which were very high-priced

He is the president of Arya Vysya Charitable trust Estd in 1984, from the year 2017 managing two hostels, providing free food and accommodation to the most deserving students of Karnataka

He is the nominated member of the Finance and Advisory Committee of the Karnataka State Cricket Association.

Karnataka Rajyothsava Prashasthi was honoured for his contribution in the profession and social service from the Newspapers Association of Karnataka in December 2020

Received the Distinguished Leadership Award and Lions International President Medal from Lions International President for his significant contribution in establishing the Abhaya Oswal Institute of Ophthalmology at JP Nagar, Bangalore.

He is also an MJF and a Life member of Lions International

He is a PHF of Rotary International

He had the Privilege to meet Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

The proud moment was when he was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate for his amazing work for the society, medical relief, and charity by Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka, the Chancellor, and advice-chancellor Prof R V Siddegowda from Tumkuru University.

He has also served autonomously in prestigious institutions like Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bangalore, for more than two decades and Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology for over three years.

He has been involved and has achieved great heights in different capacities in various organisations, associations, and councils. Which makes him a man with a great vibrance in all the fields he is into.
