It's surprising to anyone that an unemployed person can become the owner of a million-dollar company.

This unemployed man took a loan of Rs 50000/- from his wife and started a small garage in Andheri, Mumbai. The brand established by him has grown to great heights with his hard work and today is known as the leading brand in India. What we are covering today is the path taken by Neeraj Gupta, the founder of Meru Cabs. Neeraj grew up in a business family. He completed his master's degree from Mitibai College, Mumbai. Being an average student, Neeraj joined a textile company under the guidance of his father. After marriage, he left his job  and became unemployed. His wife was working at Jet Airways.

He used to pick up and drop his wife for five years. Then he got an idea in his mind. In 1999, he borrowed Rs. 50000/- rupees from his wife and opened a garage named ‘ Elite class’ with a friend. As he worked, he became a client of corporate companies like Blue Dart and Sony. Later, in 2001, he took a loan of 14 lakh rupees and started his service by buying a bus for the officers working in this corporate company. Along with Tata Group, they offered a shuttle service. Thus after 6 years, he started a cab service named Meru. After the launch of “ Meru Cabs “, there was a big problem with financial investment to provide India's first metered radio cab service.

To attract private equity investment, Neeraj considered spinning off two smaller companies, the first of which was V-Link Solutions. In this, he started a V-Link taxi service to drive people to different BPOs and succeeded. Appreciating Neeraj's wisdom, ‘ India Value ‘ invested Rs.200 crore rupees. Today, 9000 Meru cabs are operating in 6 cities across the country. His annual turnover has crossed Rs.800 crore rupees. Apart from this, they have started providing cab service, especially for women. Cabs are driven only by women.

According to Neeraj, nothing is impossible if a man's aspirations are clear and he has confidence in what he is doing with the help of continuous efforts. Their efforts and success really give an irresistible motivation and inspiration to those who want to do something.
