Karnataka Government signs MoUs worth Rs 22,000 crore

At World Economic Forum 2024 in Davos , Switzerland, the Government of Karnataka has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with seven companies such as Microsoft, Web Werks and Hitachi worth Rs 22,000 crore.
Web Werks committed to invest Rs 20,000 crore to set up a data centre park.
Hitachi is focusing on economic development in the rural sector, healthcare, education, and panchayat e-governance. Hitachi's plans include the initiation of M-Star Telemedicine Deployment through Hitachi MGRM Net.
Besides this, four companies have entered into MOUs with the state government, which is collectively worth over Rs 2,000 crore. The government held talks with companies such as Volvo Group, Nestle, Sony, Inox Group, HP, Lulu Group, Honeywell, Takeda Pharma, Coinbase, and more.
In Vijayapura district, the Lulu Group is planning to set up a food processing plant dedicated to exports. It has plans to invest Rs 300 crore.
Takeda Pharmaceuticals intends to establish a global innovation centre in Bengaluru and is actively scouting for suitable campus locations, it was stated.
