Born in 1990 to a middle-class family where his father was a barber, he witnessed the discrimination of the poor and marginalized with the word ‘barber’ being alternatively used as slang in the local languages. He felt ostracized and his self-worth depleted, deciding to not pursue the profession of a barber. He completed his schooling in the local government school and obtained a Diploma in Fire and Safety Management while completing ITI in Electronic Communication.

The stressful procedures to be followed in order to be employed with the tedious workload and extended work hours of companies wearied Naveen Kunal to the extent that he overcame his negative perception of his father’s job. He saw the benefits of being a barber, and deciding that he needed to upgrade his haircut skills, migrated to Bangalore. There, he resided in a paying guest (PG) room, and feeling bored of only providing haircuts, began working under various beauty parlours to learn the ins and outs of makeup.

Naveen Kunal established NK Makeoverz while still polishing his craft in 2014, as he believed in improving with experience. He also began to attend seminars and workshops, paying attention and noting tips from the experts there to improve and polish his skills till he was able to perform every service he provided. This reduced his dependence on workers skilled in those sections, as unexpected circumstances could harm the business, with workers being sick or unexpectedly leaving the job.

NK Makeovers began to flourish under the vision and guidance of Naveen Kunal, and he ensures it serves people of all age groups happily. His experience and vast knowledge of the methodologies and enhancements of the makeup industry are an added bonus in perfectly decorating and enhancing a person’s face appeal.
