Founded in 2008 by Shashikumar, Style Dance Crew has been a beacon of joy and creativity in the city of Shimoga. What started as a small venture with a few friends and community members has now blossomed into a thriving dance academy, enriching the lives of thousands of students.

Shashikumar's passion for cinema, music, and performing arts has been the driving force behind the success of Style Dance Crew. After completing his M.A., Shashikumar began offering dance classes, realizing the power of dance to uplift spirits and bring people together.

Alongside Sri K.S Eshwarappa, Sri K.E Kantesh, Sri E Vishwas, and Sri Simplex Ramesh, he co-founded Style Dance Crew, which has now grown to employ 20 talented dance masters who impart their knowledge to 300-400 enthusiastic students. Over the past 15 years, Style Dance Crew has had the privilege of teaching and inspiring over 50,000-60,000 students, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

Shashikumar's involvement in the film industry further fuels his creative pursuits. He is a multi-talented individual who writes, dances, sings, acts, and even choreographs for movies.

With Jogi Prem sir as his mentor and Vijay Eshwara, an associate of Jogi Prem, Shashikumar continues to expand his skills and aspirations. His notable work in the song "Hey Maga Shimoga" is a testament to his dedication and talent.

At Style Dance Crew, the focus is not only on teaching dance but also on nurturing holistic development. They cater to both children and adults, offering a diverse range of programs, from cultural performances to professional dance competitions.

While Style Dance Crew has achieved remarkable success, it hasn't been without its fair share of challenges. Societal issues surrounding noise and perceptions of dance initially made it difficult to find suitable spaces for conducting classes, especially during the early stages.

Furthermore, some parents expressed concerns that dance might distract their children from academic pursuits. Unfounded criticism and demands for free classes added to the financial strain, making it challenging to cover studio rental fees, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Shashikumar's unwavering determination and the support of his friends and well-wishers propelled Style Dance Crew forward. He took loans and made personal sacrifices to keep the business afloat.

Sri KS Eshwarappa , Sri KE Kantesh , Sri E Vishwas and Sri Simplex Ramesh played pivotal roles in the foundation and maintenance of the academy. The dedicated team of dance masters, including Rangnath, Ajay, Sunil, Vinay, Jitendra, and Darshan, contributed their expertise and enthusiasm. The guidance from Krishna, a bandmaster, and the police inspector, and the initial support from Sindhu Kumaraswamy, who provided land space and imparted dance knowledge, were invaluable.

Despite the numerous hurdles and financial difficulties, Shashikumar and his team persevered. Their love for dance and their unwavering spirit transformed Style Dance Crew into a success story. While the studio initially operated at a loss, the dedication and passion of the entire team, combined with the circumstances brought about by the pandemic, turned the tide. Style Dance Crew is now thriving and spreading Styles through the joy of dance.
