Raveendra R started his career as a booking clerk in a logistic company and after One and half year of service, he left the company with the intention of starting something on his own. Raveendra started his company, Unity Logistics Services in Chamrajpet with the help of his friend Ramchandra, they both had similar backgrounds and experience where they both did work in Logistics and Warehousing Industries.

Their start-up, Unity Logistics Services , was into warehousing activity, The customers would get finished products for which the company was responsible for the product inventory, order processing, execution; Primary/secondary distribution or any kind of activity needed by the customer. They also give logistic support to customer, like transporting it to correct place at the correct time. They have grown in stages in this business.

At the time of starting the business Raveendra had no funds, the company did not have a landline telephonic connection and Raveendra had to use the neighbour’s hotel phone to make official calls. Raveendra struggled in the initial years of business and after a while he started taking paid bookings this process involved less money and he targeted paid customers, he used to track his logistics even without GPS tracking and gave his clients’ the exact location by contacting the lorry drivers, this was before the digital era took over and he managed to succeed in this error proof manual operation, which in our opinion is next to impossible in the current generation. According to Raveendra “The success of a business depends on how well a business is promoted and Promoters are the key to his success. It would be impossible to reach any level of success without the strong support of team memebers”.

Raveendra R did his schooling in a Kannada medium Government School and from there he went on to pursue further studies. In the year 2014, he visited IIM Ahmadabad to pursue a course which lasted for 10-12 days and he said “This course helped me in building the business that I have today”, in the next few years his business saw 33% growth and finally in the year 2017, he did Post graduation in Supply Chain Management to learn more at the age of 45 years. This goes on to say that learning is a never ending process and true growth is impartial of the background if we team up with sheer hard work and dedication.

Today Unity Logistics Services boasts of 250 trucks, 4 lakh square feet of warehouse, 25,000 tons of material handled every month. With Bangalore as Headquarters, they have a Pan India presence and provide their service all over the country and the whole of South India being their main market. Unity Logistics Services has over 450 employees which includes the drivers and their work culture is similar to that of a corporate style of the work environment.

Raveendra feels that there are ample opportunities in the industry as it is 2.5 billion market size in the country, and he has the confidence to grow more. Have a goal in work & try to achieve it even change of plan, use all the correct methods to achieve this goal is his advice to the new entrepreneurs. He has vast plans to expand to refrigeration also.
