Raghvendra Setty is the brains behind Shri
Gayathri Automobiles, Shri Gayathri Automobiles are known as one of Bangalore’s
best traders, dealers and wholesalers in auto parts and products. Auto parts
are for most cars are available and they cater to dealers and customers alike
and provide competitive prices.
Raghavendra Setty’s journey to success is unconventional and absolutely inspiring; Pindikoor Raghavendra Setty was born in a humble middle-class family in Kenchanagudda, Siruguppa Taluk in Ballari. We were so glad that he could make time for us on such short notice and we asked him about his early days, for which he reminisces “My parents were extremely hardworking and they had a small Kirana Shop or Petty Shop back in our native in Andhra, this was our means of living. This meant that we didn’t have the most luxurious childhood but we learned early on the importance of hard work. I did my primary schooling in a Kannada Medium School in Andhra and my High School in Siruguppa. I moved to Ballari to study Diploma in Automation Engineering from the Government College, since I secured a merit seat I have also sponsored a free hostel stay by Arya Vyashya Samaja. I had a lot of dreams and hopes to pursue Engineering and in spite of the financial setbacks at home my father did support me to join an Evening College but after a while, it became too much to bear.”
Financial constraints either make or break a character, we were especially eager to find out what was the outcome in the case of Raghavendra Setty, he continues “Since there was no financial support from my home, I had to fend for myself and that’s when I started working and studying simultaneously. My first ever job was at Insulet Wires, Peenya, this company dealt with Bottle Cap Manufacturing and I was an operator, work hours were between 6 am to 2 pm and I was paid 500 INR. After a few months I found the compensation I was getting was way too little when compared to the work that was being done by me, that’s when I shifted to CMO (Central Mechanized Operation) I was paid a stipend of 800 INR, here I got to work under Senior and Junior Engineers but the work was minimal and there wasn’t any growth curve and that’s when I decided to pursue a career path full time and I dropped out of my Engineering and joined Gleetek Granite India, this was by far the toughest job I had to do as a supervisor and this was a learning curve for me, this job made me realize the importance of the presence of mind and also teamwork because small mistake could have a big consequence and this job had a big impact in my learning curve”
It is evident that Raghavendra Setty had a pretty versatile portfolio but how did he manage to get into the automobile business was our next question to him
