Success Story of KISHAN BROTHERS OF NISARGA WOODS

Amith Kishan and Ashrith Kishan grandsons of G P Krishnappa followed in the footsteps of their grandfather a well-known name in Chikkaballapur,  for cattle rearing,  became entrepreneurs in their own special way. Kishan brothers were born and brought up in Chikkaballapur and after graduating went to Bangalore to work in the Banking sector. Though they were both working successfully they always wanted to do something on their own and become successful, so they followed their dream and bought a few acres of land in Penukonda and started Nisarga woods an agro realty project of a different sort. To develop these farmlands organically, they did research and found out that 4 to 5 cows are required to fertilize one acre of land hence they bought cows to organically develop those fields and so began their journey of Hebbevu Fresh. Hebbevu fresh became a source of selling the milk and other milk products and also the fresh products grown in their lands.

Story Of Hebbevu: Nature For Future

Nisarga woods private limited was started with an intention of providing agricultural experience and land for those who couldn’t do agriculture on their own. This was a new way of agriculture realty, where the company took the responsibility of cultivating the farms on the behalf of the owners according to their requirements. They grow the crops in their land and the returns are shared among both the customers and the company. The crops grown in this field were both cash crops and vegetables. In order to do this organic farming they required manure from the cows and so they started rearing cows and this, in turn, led to the yield of milk and other products, all these led to three branches of business lines namely  Hebbevu Farms,  Hebbevu Supermarket, and the Ksheera farm-fresh milk.

In order to do their agro realty, land required was secured at Penukonda in Andhra Pradesh as the water facility in this area was in adequate quantity. Water from Gollapalli reservoir is run through Handri nerve canals to fill the lakes which are useful in agriculture, this water reserve has helped them, and also the availability of agro laborers has helped them immensely in their venture.

To start this venture they invested their 6 years of saving and their wives also helped them, so with an investment of 30 to 40 lakhs they started their business with 10 acres of land which has now expanded to 450 acres. They are backed by an expert team with experience of more than 30 years in agriculture, horticulture, with a combined passion for responsibility and economic returns which helps both in the growth of cash crops as well as animal husbandry. They choose high-yielding farmland, do the soil testing to check their fertility, and legally buy land which they register to the customers yearly wise i.e for those looking for short-term returns, or long term i.e 12- 15 years with high returns. They grow many varieties of vegetables, along with any timber yielding trees and also cash crops. After 15 years of the agreement, the agreement can be renewed or they can be sold back to them. There are around 180 customers who are from all over the world, i.e from countries like USA and Dubai as well.

After initial failure to raise breeds like HF and Jersey, they have now started to raise local breeds of 450 cows like Gir, Kankrej, Sahiwal,  and Ongole. They are getting around 1400 liters and by-products like ghee, butter, etc. They are now selling it to apartment complexes in Bangalore. There are around 150 to 200 laborers helping them.

They have plans for expanding their business in Karnataka also in the future. Their whole family is helping them in this regard. Being the young and pioneers in managing farmlands they have a long way to grow in the future.
