Sardar Manmeet Singh, popularly known as the Green Man of India, is an inspirational nature activist. His activism journey started in 2011. He embarked on an extraordinary journey accompanied by 17 companions. He and his companions set off on a walk from Karnataka to Punjab.

This transformative expedition exposed him to the diverse realities of nature as he traversed numerous villages and towns. Along the way, he witnessed the beauty of the natural world and the challenges faced by different regions, particularly in Rajasthan, where towns had to cope with severe heat and water scarcity.

These profound experiences ignited a deep desire within Sardar Manmeet Singh to make a positive difference in these areas. He began his journey by organizing small-scale plantation drives with his family, spreading across 12 states. His environmental activism started in Bidar, Karnataka, where he witnessed the initial seeds of change taking hold.

In 2019, during the 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak, Sardar Manmeet Singh's endeavors took a momentous turn. Driven by his passion for the environment, he visited cities housing Guru Nanak's temples. He planted 550 trees in each location, ultimately resulting in the planting of over 250,000 trees. This monumental undertaking contributed to environmental conservation and was a powerful catalyst for connecting like-minded individuals with a deep passion for safeguarding nature.

The magnitude of his cause necessitated the establishment of an organization, and thus, the Karam Foundation was born. Sourcing plants from the Forest Department posed challenges due to the scale of their operations, but Sardar Manmeet Singh's unwavering commitment and determination persevered. Within Karam Foundation, the Green India Project emerged as a focused initiative dedicated to tree planting and preservation.

Recognizing his dedication, numerous institutions, including schools, colleges, and temples, invited Sardar Manmeet Singh to participate in plantation drives. Even popular talk shows like the Kapil Sharma Show sought to shed light on his noble causes, further amplifying his message.

To commemorate the 75th Independence Day, Sardar Manmeet Singh and his foundation planted sets of 75 trees in various locations throughout Bidar. However, fueled by his ambition and drive to accomplish even more, he conceived a grand plan to select 75 cities, recruit volunteers, and plant 1,000 trees in each urban center.

With support from the Forest Department, schools, politicians, and other NGOs, Sardar Manmeet Singh’s ambitious initiative, aptly named "Bharat ki Pariyavaran Yatra" or India's Environmental Journey, is set to commence on June 5th, World Environment Day, starting from Kanyakumari. The journey will traverse cities such as Bangalore, Gulbarga, Mumbai, and more, culminating in Delhi. Each city along the route will witness the planting of a thousand trees, symbolizing the collective effort to nurture and protect the environment.

Beyond his involvement in tree planting, Sardar Manmeet Singh is an avid bike rider, often joining fellow riders to organize plantation drives. His love for nature and the environment serves as an inspiration to all. He emphasizes that his noble causes are driven solely by his love for nature, the environment, India, and the Earth, devoid of political or religious affiliations.

Sardar Manmeet Singh, the Green Man of India, continues to sow seeds of change and inspire others to join his mission. Through his tireless efforts and unwavering commitment, he aims to transform the landscape and foster a deep appreciation and respect for the natural world we all share.

In closing, we invite all nature lovers to take part in the Green India Project. It will only positively impact us and our country. If Bharat ki Pariyavaran Yatra stops in your city, we urge you to help Sardar Manmeet Singh and the Green India Project in any way possible.
