A significant name in the fashion and film industry is Manish Malhotra. He is one of the famous fashion designers, costume stylists,s and an entrepreneur in India. His elegant style and exceptional designer costumes have set a prominent name in the fashion industry. He has been in this fashion industry for more than 30 decades and is one of the stylish icons of the Film industry.

Manish Malhotra was born in 1966 in Westminster, London. He completed his college studies at Elphinstone College, Maharashtra. He did not complete any course for fashion designing, but his passion for sketching and drawing made him achieve a notable name in the fashion industry. He started his career as a model when he was studying in college but did not get succeeded as a model.

Later he joined a Boutique in Bandra by sketching and draping mannequins. Then hired 2 tailors and started designing customized clothes and got the chance to design costumes for Juhi Chawla in the movie “Saward”. His costume designs for Urmila Matondkar in “Rangeela” have won the Filmfare award for Best Costume Designer. Manish dresses were mainly designed under the apparel store Reverie-Manish Malhotra.

Thereafter he got multiple offers from Bollywood for designing customized clothes for actors and actresses. His costumes are designed with traditional colors, textures, and embroideries. He is appreciated for his modern and minimalist costume design. Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota hai and Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham movie costumes designed by Manish Malhotra have been the trendsetter during the time.

His casual to bridal dress like shorts, tracksuits, sweatshirts, high waist genes, oversized skirts, pleated skirts, skater dresses, sheer traditional outfits worn by actresses Kajol, Karishma Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukerji has made long queue in front of his store. His glamorous costumes made actresses look sultry in the movies.

In 2005 he opened his labeled couture brand Manish Malhotra, it provides bridal garments for both Men and Women. Currently, he has two retail shops in Delhi and Mumbai. His overseas boutique is present in Dubai.

He has designed dresses for Bollywood celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Sushmita Sen, Sridevi, Alia Bhat, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai, Preity Zinta, Imran Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

He also designed customized outfits for Hollywood celebrities like Karolina Kurkova, Naomi Campbell, Reese Witherspoon, Kylie Minogue, Kate Moss, and Demi Moore.

He has collaborations with industrialist Kajal Anand, Yash, and Avanti Birla to design a collection for their shop, Reverie. He is the first Indian Costume designer to have more than 1million followers on social media. He also collaborated with Google to launch “GSuite”

Manish Malhotra designer outfits are worn by Celebrities and Models in Lakme Fashion Week and he was invited to the Cannes Film festival. He rather extended his business in Jewellery and Skin Care Products for Women. His Jewellery shop is in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
