Licious is a Bangalore-based Meat and Seafood Unicorn founded in the year 2015 by Abhay Hanjura and Vivek Gupta and owned by Delightful Gourmet Pvt Ltd. Abhay has a degree in Biotechnology and alumnus of the Indian Institute of Insurance. He served as campus ambassador of Infosys, started his career as a Deputy Manager at India Insure Risk Management Services. Vivek is a Chartered Accountant and rank-holding commerce graduate from Punjab University. He worked as the Non-Executive Director at Mobicom Commune Pvt. Ltd. Abhay approached Vivek for starting this new Business Model.

Licious operates on all major cities in India from Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune, Chennai, Chandigarh, Pondicherry, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Kochi, Vizag, Kolkata, and Vijayawada. Mostly 95% of the meats we get from markets are unhygienic and sometimes customers even feel hesitant to enter the markets because of the filthy environment. To solve to the problem and bring hygienic meat to home this e-commerce website was launched. Licious is the first meat brand in India to get FSSC 22000 certified accreditation.

This the first Unicorn to start Direct to Customer Sales with farm to fork model and control the whole backend supply chain and cold chain. It serves the best chicken, mutton, fish, and eggs online. Licious completes more than 1million orders in a month with 3500 employees delivering the order in the stipulated time of 90-120mins across India.  It has also receiving funds from Vertex Growth Fund, Sistema AsiaFund, Innoven Capital, Mohandas Pai and Mayfield Capital.

Licious Offline Centers are operating in Bangalore’s Park Square Mall and Gurugram’s Galleria Market. It has more than 1 million regular Customers who buy through this e-commerce platform. In 2015  the revenue was 1.47 crores and now in 2021, the revenue is 420.3 crores. The total funding of Licious according to 2021 data is estimated to be $338.5 million. Licious is on talks to expand its business in 10 more cities in India in the upcoming year. Serving fresh meat stored in 0 degrees to 5 degrees Celsius. From cleaning, cutting, and storing to delivery of products all the processes are carried in a well-defined manner.
