VISHWA PRASAD ALVA Founder of SKANRAY - An Entrepreneur, an Environmentalist and an advocate for cruelty against animals

Initially Vishwa Prasad had to undergo various hardships due to government policies and took 3 years to procure land for the project and raised money from friends and others through phone and other media and finally with the help of the then D C of Mysore Mr Mani Vannan and other officials started the company. Initially it was a challenge to start MNC and pull the experts to a startup company, and he was not able to pay a good salary but managed on living expenses, but they pulled off efficiently. Mysore was chosen as they found it to be a neutral city with people who were multi linguistic and it was conducive to have people from all over the world including those from America, Mexico, European countries and Brazil working in their company.

At  the time of starting the  company there were no major companies which were into Medical equipment products , the company started of with 5 engineers,  then 150 engineers from R &D background joined them and then with acquisition of L & T Medical systems it went up to 400 , then a company was acquired in Italy, second R & D company started in Italy, acquired Cardia in Netherlands. In Italy there are major veterinary products and Cathlabs (related to heart), now with the help of state and central governments they have started an Advance Test facility.  At present, totally 700 professionals are working with them.  First product from the company was exported to the USA and 2 units to Brazil, 2 Units in Kerala were installed. Now all major hospitals including Apollo, Narayana Hrudalaya are using their products. The company is manufacturing all the products from scratch and are not importing any products from China or any other countries, R & D is less in India compared to Japan and USA. Except for CT, MRI & Nuclear medicines all other products are being manufactured. 350 engineers in R & D are doing Verification and validation, Engineers regulate, quality check is maintained and the company has now emerged as the top medical company in the world.

DRDO, BEL are also helping to make India as one of the major Medical equipment exporter, and health care providers of the world and he feels there is good response from the government also. The company has 1 lakh products in the field and spread across 80 countries. The company which started with an investment of 5-6  crores has reached 400 t0 500 crores and the target is to reach 1 billion US Dollars.

Mr Vishwa Prasad Alva is not only an Entrepreneur, volunteer and Champion for vegetarianism, non violence, nature cure, Home care and telemedicine. His Social service mind has come from parents, and grandparents. He helps children of marginal farmers and girl students also. He wants to develop Gadinadu Souharda in the education system by promoting the mother tongue of people living in border areas.

 He has served as Principal Promoter for Lahari, Advanced Electronics test facility of GOI and GOK, Vice  Chairman for confederation of Indian Industry, worked as Head Technology Integration for GE Healthcare, Deputy manager for Kirloskar Electric.

He is proficient in English, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Tulu.Has been honoured with many awards like
