Woman entrepreneur develops aviation firm from with turnover of Rs 150 crore using the Uber model

Kanika Tekriwal's real-life tale exemplifies this idea perfectly. Kanika, a 24-year-old girl who had recently survived cancer, entered the Indian aviation sector nine years ago without buying a single aircraft. 

She intended to start a charter aircraft business similar to Ola and Uber by employing an aggregator approach. 

Kanika is the founder of Jetsetgo Aviation Services Private Limited, situated in Delhi. 

She put up Rs 5600 to create an app for booking chartered flights. To manage the business for the first two years, he accepted advance payments from clients and credit from vendors.

She also provided consulting and advice to clients looking to buy planes that suited their needs. Sudheer Perla, a chartered accountant and an Oxford management graduate, became a co-founder in 2014. 

With a turnover of Rs 150 crore, Jetsetgo today employs over 200 people and has offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Last year, the company purchased an eight-plane fleet. 

They will manage 1 lakh passengers and operate 6000 flights in 2020-21. Corporate clients, celebrities, politicians, and influential people make up a majority of their clients. They have a variety of charter flights available, ranging from a six-seater to an 18-seater.

Kanika's concern for her staff was clear when she had to interrupt her interview with us to attend to an employee who'd already fallen off an aeroplane. She took command of the issue and only returned following ensuring that the employee had the necessary medical care. 

Jetsetgo's eVTOL (electrical Vertical Take-Off) aircraft service is aiming for a first-mover advantage in the nascent urban air mobility market. eVTOL planes can take off and land vertically and are expected to play a significant role in urban mobility shortly.

It will be a city-wide shuttle service between two places. They just launched this service in Mumbai, and the prices are comparable to Uber, varying from Rs 1000 to Rs 2500 based on distance. 

They will continue to lease and acquire planes in the future since they need to expand the company's network.
